Successful Chest Wall Chondrosarcoma Resection & Reconstruction
A 27-year-old male presented with a large right-sided chest wall swelling diagnosed as Grade 1 Chondrosarcoma, involving the 2nd–4th ribs with intrathoracic extension but no distant metastasis. The team successfully performed a VATS-assisted wide local excision with 2nd and 3rd rib resection, followed by mesh and 3D rib implant reconstruction with Latissimus Dorsi flap, under general anesthesia. The complex 7-hour procedure was completed with meticulous surgical planning and multidisciplinary coordination.
